"Rachel Calof: A Memoir with Music" is a one-woman musical stage show that dramatizes the story of Rachel Calof, a Jewish picture bride, who travels from Russia to Devil's Lake North Dakota in 1894. Determined to own free land through the homestead act, Rachel and her husband raise nine children through the brutal winters and failed crops to eventually triumph over adversity. Adapted from her memoir written later in life, "Rachel Calof-A Memoir with Music" was awarded "Best Musical" in New York City's 2015 United Solo Theater Festival on Theater Row.
